Beadeds & Gilas

Heloderma

Gila monsters and beaded lizards are the two living species of Heloderma — slow-moving, long-lived, and unlike anything else in the collection. Every animal here is captive-bred and comes with full care history.

Gila Monsters

North America's only venomous lizard, native to the desert Southwest. Ours are raised on a strict feeding schedule and handled from a young age, so they're calm animals with keepers who know what they're doing.

Beaded Lizards

The Gila monster's larger Central American cousin. Beaded lizards need more room and a bit more patience, but they're some of the most rewarding animals we keep long-term.

Before you reach out

Heloderma are venomous, regulated in a lot of places, and not a first-reptile purchase. We ask about your setup and experience before agreeing to place an animal — it's not a formality, it's how we keep every placement a good one.
